Richard Reed is senior vice president of Disaster Cycle Services at the American Red Cross. Before taking the role at Red Cross, he was at the White House, serving as deputy assistant to the president for homeland security. His prior White House tenure included service as special assistant to the president for homeland security and director for continuity (2006-2009) and special assistant to the president and senior director for resilience policy (2009-12). His federal service exceeds 20 years, with positions in the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the General Services Administration.
