Julia Michaels

After over 40 years as a journalist and writer in the U.S. and Brazil, Julia Michaels is a first-time non-profit co-founder. FullCircle’s team is building a digital platform for Black storytelling, centered on the African Motherland and the Diaspora. It will break down silos and connect African descendants, Africans, academia, museums, heritage institutions and entrepreneurs, enabling unique experiences, exchanges and learning — to be shared and multiplied. She has authored several books in Portuguese and is at work on a new one, a racial memoir. Mother of three, grandmother of two, she holds an MA in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and an MFA from Bennington College.
