Co-Author: Treating People Well: The Extraordinary Power of Civility at Work and in Life

Jeremy Bernard served as White House Social Secretary and Special Assistant to the President from 2011–2015. Previously, he was Senior Advisor to the United States Ambassador in France and the White House Liaison to the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Jeremy is the Founder and President of JMB Global, LTD, a strategic consulting company, and lives in Los Angeles.

In TREATING PEOPLE WELL, Berman and Bernard draw from their unique access inside the White House, where every moment is high stakes and high visibility, to show how civility is crucial to a successful and rewarding life. In our technology-burdened, politically divided world, it feels all too easy to make a misstep. Here are concrete tips on how to develop confidence, be consistent, use humor, listen carefully, radiate calm, resolve conflicts quickly, be honest without being cruel, cultivate loyalty, own your mistakes, work with difficult people, and attend to details. Lea and Jeremy honed these skills over years, striving to apply kindness, empathy, and genuine thoughtfulness to achieve success and personal fulfilment. Treating People Well demonstrates how you can do the same.
