Essence Gant is a leading beauty, lifestyle and culture journalist, content creator, and consultant. She has built a brand around authentic commentary and content from a socially-conscious lens with bylines for noted publications, including Black Enterprise, Allure, Glamour, Essence magazine, and BuzzFeed — where she was Beauty Director for six years and launched the company’s beauty and lifestyle platform. 

In 2021, Essence launched Gant Media Group, a creative house that sits at the intersection of content and culture. GMG helps brands establish their creative voice and image through content direction and creation, and has worked with brands like Target, Netflix, and Parcel Health —  a woman-founded business addressing global healthcare challenges through innovative product design.

With over a decade of experience in media and entertainment and a Masters degree in Social Work, Essence is most passionate about the intersection of lifestyle with diversity, inclusion and equity. A Georgia native, Essence currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
