David Boehmer

David Boehmer is a global managing partner of Financial Services, leading the practice globally. Based in Heidrick & Struggles’ London office, he also leads the Financial Services Practice in Europe and Africa as well as senior client engagements across the sector, including banking, payments, asset management, and FinTech.

Previously, David divided his time between the San Francisco and New York offices, leading the Financial Service Practice for the Americas. Before that, he was head of the Financial Services Infrastructure Practice for the Americas, a practice made up of teams focused on the functional areas of financial services that include finance, risk, legal, compliance, technology, operations, audit, human resources, and sales and marketing.

David’s portfolio of search and advisory work over the years spans senior leadership roles, including chair, board, CEO, COO and general management positions across FinTech, payments, banking, asset management, hedge fund, capital markets, insurance, and alternative investment clients.

Prior to joining the firm, David was a managing associate with a generalist boutique executive search firm. He served with another global executive search firm as a member of its technology and telecommunications practice.

David was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2012. He is leading efforts and guiding the conversation on the next generation of leadership, diversity and innovation within the Young Global Leader community. David is also an active board member of Komera, a not-for-profit focused on empowering young girls in Eastern Africa through education, entrepreneurship, and mentorship. He also serves as a Big Brother in the Big Brother Big Sister’s organization.
