Rev. Cynthia Carter-Perrilliat
Rev. Cynthia Carter-Perrilliat, MPA, BA, is Co-founder and CEO of the AC Care Alliance (ACCA), a community-based organization in partnership with clinical, academic, and community organizations. ACCA engages over 50 faith-based organizations and their pastors across six California counties, including San Francisco and Los Angeles.
The ACCA Advanced Illness Care Program™ assists persons needing chronic and advanced illness care, along with their family caregivers, in managing physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and advanced care planning needs. Rev. Cynthia has served as a Principal Investigator/Program Director for the Public Health Institute (PHI) and brings over 25 years of experience as a hospice and palliative care educator, trainer, and marketing professional. She has also served as faculty for the Duke University Institute on Care at the End of Life APPEAL program, which stands for A Progressive Palliative Care Educational Curriculum for Care of African Americans at Life’s End.
Rev. Cynthia is a highly sought-after motivational speaker and advocate for health equity and inclusion for communities of color. She has presented most recently at the Kaiser Permanente Aging Well Summit and the Science and Wisdom Conference in London, England. She has served as a Board member of VitalTalk.org, an organization focused on curriculum and language development for physicians caring for those with serious illness.
Under her leadership, ACCA has grown and expanded across California, receiving the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) Innovative Model Recognition Award, the Excellence in Innovation Award from the Hillman Foundation (NY), and the Excellence in Innovation award from the American Public Health Association and Archstone Foundation.
Rev. Cynthia is an ordained minister serving at the historic Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, CA. She is also a gospel/jazz music recording artist and writer under her Splendor Record label, having recently released If I Had A Hammer, a social justice anthem for a new generation, available on most online music platforms.
