Louis Freeman
CRA Managing Director of Partnerships and Services
Louis Freeman, originally from New York, was raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University and a master’s degree in finance from Clark Atlanta University.
Mr. Freeman began his professional journey as an underwriter with the Georgia Housing Finance Authority. He subsequently held positions at several community development lending institutions, including the Georgia Housing Finance Authority, the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. In 2013, he joined Truist as the Community Development Manager for Virginia and Maryland. Two years later, he relocated to Florida to oversee and advance Truist Bank initiatives related to affordable housing, community development, and financial education.
Currently, Mr. Freeman serves as the CRA Managing Director of Partnerships and Services at Truist, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He leads a team of community development managers spanning nine states, directing the development and execution of innovative, scalable, national, and multi-regional initiatives that underscore the bank’s commitment to small businesses and underserved communities.
He is also an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Trustees for The Coalition in Washington, D.C., as well as The Urban League of Central Carolinas in Charlotte, North Carolina.
