SVP, Director of Governance and Administration


Lashea Reaves serves as the Senior Vice President and Director of Governance and Administration within the Purpose, Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion department at Truist. She draws upon her extensive experience in the Financial Services and Human Capital sectors to excel in her role, where she oversees risk management and ensures compliance with governance and regulatory operations. Alongside these responsibilities, she promotes a purpose-driven culture that flourishes in a constantly changing business environment.

Lashea began her banking career in 2007 through the Regions Bank Leadership Development Program. Her journey spans various departments, including Retail, Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management, with esteemed organizations such as Charles Schwab, GE Capital, and First Horizon Bank, before she joined Truist in 2022. A trailblazer in the nonprofit sector, Lashea founded 8 Cents in a Jar in 2016, a nonprofit dedicated to helping youth from the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population achieve economic mobility, financial inclusion, and poverty prevention. The organization has significantly impacted the lives of over 3,000 students aged 8 to 28, supporting their pathways to asset acquisition and wealth creation.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Florida A&M University and a master’s degree in Human Resources from Nova Southeastern University. Her remarkable contributions have garnered her various accolades, including the CNBC Financial Literacy Leader Award with distinction from the Secretary of Education, recognition in FAMU’s 40 Under 40, and being named among the Top 50 Women Leaders in Business. She has also been featured in the Orlando Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. In 2018, Lashea was celebrated as one of Orlando Magazine’s Women of the Year and again in 2024 as a Super Woman of the Year. She lives in Orlando, Florida, with her husband and two adult children.
