Dr. Silvanus J. Udoka

Dr. Silvanus J. Udoka is a Professor and Dean of the School of Business at Clark Atlanta University (CAU), Atlanta, GA. He also served in the role of Chief Academic Officer as the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs (Interim) at CAU. As Dean, he is focused on creating an enabling environment for transformative, innovative learning that educate, empower, and transform diverse learners into dynamic leaders who shape the changing global face and future of business.

Dr. Udoka previously served as Professor & Chairperson, Department of Management in the Willie A. Deese College of Business & Economics at North Carolina A&T State University. On a joint appointment, he was concurrently a Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the same University, where he served as the Director of the Department’s Robotics and Automation Laboratory as well as the Virtual and Augmented Reality Laboratory.

His body of research work over the past several years has taken various perspectives to propose approaches to interactive visualization and visual depiction of systems to include products as well as production and service systems. From a systems perspective, interactive system visualization seeks to provide deeper insights for evaluation and simulation of systems for characterizing and optimizing designs of integrated production and service delivery systems, extending to touch the entire supply chain. He is the author of more than 100 scholarly publications. In the course of his career, he has taught in the areas of Automation and Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Enterprise Simulation, Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Lean Enterprises, Production & Operations Management, Management Science/Operations Research, and Business Statistics.

He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with vast project management experience, having completed successful large-scale Lean Six Sigma projects for a wide variety of organizations. He is also certified as Enterprise Design Thinking Instructor, and maintains badges as Enterprise Design Thinking Co-Creator, and Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner. He also holds the IBM Data Science Practitioner Instructor Certificate.

Dr. Udoka has consulted for corporations, government agencies, and educational institutions for over 35 years, to execute a wide variety of projects for efficient product and service delivery through process design, redesign, improvement, and optimization.
